Yep, just like other types of bullying. I often want to show compassion but it can difficult to do at the moment and sometimes feel like showing compassion would be interpreted as condoning their behavior. I want to say (in some way), “This is NOT okay” while also acknowledging them, but I do get riled by it and have trouble articulating. It’s easier online than in person. In person, I panic. Online, even if I panic at first, I can pause for as long as I need to, then validate feelings and set boundaries.

Sometimes people don’t recognize that they’re gaslighting/bullying because of insecurity. I also often don’t realize that I’ve been gaslit until later.
